Esad Elkaz has an extensive background in soccer. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1997, he was an avid player in his native country of Yugoslavia (Bosnia Herzegovina). Locally, he played with the Red Deer Rangers and the Bosnian Canadian Soccer Club. Esad is a major contributor to the development of youth soccer in Red Deer as proven over the past few years. He has coached for the Red Deer Renegades (U12-U18) boys and girls, and he has delivered the district program, the school of soccer and the Alberta Soccer Association Mini Stars.

Esad is currently the technical director and the first Vice President for the Red Deer Soccer Association. In the last four years, he has been the head coach for the girls Alberta Summer Games and has been the recipient of the Coach of the Year Award for the city Red Deer in 2011. 

Esad possesses all levels of NCCP coaching certificates and Provincial B licence.
