Bio

The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Queens Hockey program will have a new face behind the bench beginning in the 2025-26 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) season. Brett Wold, a former student-athlete on the RDP Kings Hockey team, has been named Head Coach. 

Originally from Westlock, Alberta, Wold brings extensive experience and a commitment to changing the culture in his new role. Wold, is currently a hockey instructor at Notre Dame Hockey Academy in Red Deer.

Wold has a distinguished coaching resumé. He has served as the head coach of the U18 AAA Sutter Fund Chiefs from 2019-2024 where he won a Provincial Championship in 2023. He was also the Head Coach of U18 Team Alberta at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, PEI. Other Hockey Alberta stints include Head Coach at the 2019 Alberta Challenge, and Assistant Coach for Team Alberta at the 2019 U18 Nationals.
