Kodiaks take match over Kings at Lethbridge College

Lethbridge, AB - Perhaps motivated by Kodiaks right side hitter Carter Hansen's Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) recording breaking 1,168 kills, the Kodiaks clawed out a three set win over the visiting RDC Kings (25-21, 27-25 and 25-18).

RDC setter Thomas Wass (32 assists) effectively connected with outside hitter Ben Holmes for 11 kills.

Lacombe's Mark DeWit totaled eight kills and three stuff blocks. The all-star middle was named the Kings Player-of-the-Game. Patrik Toze accumulated seven kills.

Both teams fired three service aces.

The Kings had nine stuff blocks. The Kodiaks finished with eight. 

Carter Hansen was chosen as the Kodiaks top player. He scored 18 points (15 kills, two stuffs and an ace) in the home decision. Michael Hummel had 10 kills.

On Saturday, the third place Kings (6-3) and second seed Kodiaks (8-1) will meet at 3:00 p.m. at Lethbridge College.
