Cross Country Team Runs For The Cure

Fresh off capturing double gold on Saturday at the ACAC Grand Prix in Grand Prairie, members of the RDC Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure October 2nd. They received the award for Top Post-Secondary Fundraiser for their contribution of $923 in support of breast cancer research.

RDC athletics has always valued giving back to our community in meaningful and impactful ways. The fact that we as a cross country team can run to support such a great cause, is our way of giving back to a community that has given us so much.

Cancer is such a terrible disease that affects so many lives within our province and to run to not only show support for those affected by the disease, both indirectly and directly, but also to raise money for research is more than worth the effort to become involved, shared Nolan Dyck, member of the men's team.   Veteran team member, Jordanna Cota shared Dyck's sentiment, "We hope that through the continued support of many amazing organizations within the province, as well as continued RDC athletic involvement, we can work together to fight for a cure."
