RDC took third place in the women's division of the ACAC cross-country Grand Prix 5 Saturday.
Cota had one of her best races of the season as she prepares for the ACAC championship, Oct. 31 in Lethbridge, finishing fourth among college runners, and 24th overall, in 20 minutes 58 seconds.
Severtson was 36th overall and seventh among college runners in the five-kilometre race at 21:51 while Debree (50th, 19th) came in at 22:54 and Dease (60th, 27th) at 24:27.
"Jalene had an excellent race, improving her time from two weeks ago by one minute and 18 seconds," explained RDC head coach Brian Stackhouse. "Jordanna, Amy and Samantha also improved their times."
Grant MacEwan University runner, Vanessa Tofimenkoff, finished first at 18:47 with RDC coach Jodi Nesbitt second at 18:55 and Morgan Hawley of the University of Alberta third at 19:09. RDC coach Stephanie Flieler was 15th at 20:01.
Jamie Wigmore of Grande Prairie placed fifth and led college runners with as time of 19:22.
On the men's side, Andrew Jacobs led the RDC team, finishing 31st overall and ninth among college runners with a time of 30:16 over the 8km race.
RDC finished fourth in the team competition with 75 points. Augustana and Concordia tied for first with 33 points, but Augustana was awarded top spot as their fourth-place runner finished ahead of Concordia's fourth-place finisher – 14th to 17th.
Open runner Trevor Hofbauer was first at 25:44 with U of A runner Will Madsen second at 26:00 and former RDC star and U of A runner, Kieran McDonald, third at 26:23.
Other RDC women were: Laura Szymanek (65th, 31st, 24:52), Lauren Mearns (66th, 32nd, 25:03), Tara McDonald (67th, 33rd, 25:19), Melissa Ray (72nd, 38th, 26:07), Kaylin Ackerman (81st, 44th, 27:44), Alexandria Pedersen (87th, 49th, 32:52).
