Kings dethrone previously undefeated Kodiaks in Lethbridge

Lethbridge, AB - Friday evening, the Red Deer College Kings accomplished what no other Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men's Volleyball team has been able to do this season - defeat the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-9). 

Kings Player-of-the-Game Regan Fathers led the way with a dominant performance of 29 kills, 15 digs, two stuffs, one assist and one ace, while hitting for 44.7 per cent efficiency.

Middle blocker Mark DeWit had 11 kills, six stuff blocks, four digs, one assist and one ace. Setter Thomas Wass recorded 54 assists, 16 digs and four kills in the victory.

Dax Whitehead was named the Kodiaks top player, totaling 12 kills, 13 digs, one assist and one stuff. 

On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., the second place RDC Kings (17-6) will challenge the Kodiaks (20-1) in the Kings' final regular season match.  

The NAIT Ooks (14-7) will host the ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship from February 21 to 23 in Edmonton.
