The Red Deer College Queens Hockey team will play a home-and-home series against the NAIT Ooks. The Hockey Kings will face-off against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings twice. Both basketball squads will compete against the Olds College Broncos on the road.

The second place Hockey Queens (9-4-1-0) will face-off against the NAIT Ooks (9-4-1-0) at RDC. Both groups have 19 points.
The RDC Queens are the second best defensive team in the league, allowing a paltry 2.24 goals against. Special teams have been strong. The Queens hold the top penalty kill (89.2%) and second most efficient power play (18.9%).

The second seed Red Deer College Kings (12-2-2-0) will challenge the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings (8-8-0-0) on the road.
Sylvan Lake's Chase Thudium is putting together another strong campaign. The all-star left winger ranks third in the league with 23 points. Goaltender Arik Weersink has been steady, posting a 2.61 goals against average and 0.908 save percentage.

The Kings will host the Vikings in a rematch.
Queens Basketball | Saturday, Jan. 18 | 6:00 p.m. | Olds College
The Queens (4-6) will face the Olds College Broncos (9-1) on the road. Third-year forward Lauren Cardinal has been a very effective shooter. Over ten games, the Bachelor of Kinesiology student has hit 53.7 per cent of her shots from the field and 75 per cent from the free-throw line.
Over the break the RDC Queens defeated the Keyano College Huskies 61-59 in exhibition action.
The Broncos, who are the defending national champions, have averaged 90.1 points. Their only loss was against the Queens (65-69) on November 8.

Kings Basketball | Saturday, Jan. 18 | 8:00 p.m. | Olds College
The Broncos (1-9) will host the RDC Kings (5-5) at Olds College. Fifth-year guard Spencer Klassen has been outstanding, averaging 23.2 points, which ranks second in the league.
As a group, the Kings have sank 41.5 per cent of their shots from the field and 30.1 beyond the three-point arc.

Upcoming Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Championship
It was recently announced that Red Deer College will host the 2020 ACAC Curling Championships from Feb. 28 to March 1 at the Pidherney Curling Centre. It's a tremendous opportunity for fans to watch some of the top collegiate curlers in Alberta, and even Canada, compete in Red Deer.
