The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) announced Emily White of the Red Deer College Queens was picked for the ACAC Women's Basketball South Second All-Conference team.
White was selected with strong play at both ends of the court. The third-year forward helped lead the Queens to a 12-9 record and an impressive 7-3 in their past 10 games. The skilled Management Certificate student averaged 11.8 rebounds per game which ranked third in the league. Offensively, White scored 11.9 points and connected on 51.4% of her shots from the field which placed her fourth in ACAC Women's Basketball. With 24 blocks this season, the student-athlete from Horsens, Denmark moved into top spot as the ACAC Women's Basketball Career Blocks Leader with 104.
White has been a model of consistency for the Queens. "After missing six games in the first half of the season, the All-Conference team selection is a testament to what Emily can do on the basketball court," says Ken King, Head Coach of the RDC Queens. "It's awesome that she has been named an all-star every year that she has been in the league. She was also named the 2015 -16 Rookie of the Year and the hardware speaks to her ability."
The Queens Basketball team has shown tremendous growth. "Emily has been a big part of the RDC Queens Basketball program and she has elevated it to the point where wins are expected," says King.
The women's basketball awards were announced, February 28, at the ACAC Women's Basketball Banquet & Award Presentations at SAIT.
