The Red Deer College teams are ready for the second semester of Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) competition. This weekend, the RDC Kings Hockey team will play a home-and-home series against the Concordia University Thunder. Both RDC Volleyball squads will play a pair of matches in Olds against the Broncos.

The Red Deer College Kings (9-4-1-0) will look to start the new year on a positive note as they host the Concordia University Thunder (4-9-1-0). The Kings finished the first semester with a pair of strong performances against the first place NAIT Ooks (11-1-1-1). The Kings took three out of four points against the Ooks and they handed NAIT their first regulation loss of the season. In their past 10 games, the RDC Kings sport a 7-3 record and they share second spot in the league.
Special teams have been solid for the RDC Kings. They are tied for the second best penalty kill (91.4%) and they hold the second best power play (18.8%) in ACAC Men's Hockey.

In Edmonton, the Hockey Kings will face-off against the Concordia University Thunder.
Queens Volleyball | Friday, January 5 | 6:00 p.m. | Olds College
The RDC Queens (9-3) will compete against the Broncos (0-14) in Olds. In their past 10 matches, the Queens are 8-2 and they have won their past five matches in a row. The Volleyball Queens sit in second place in the ACAC Women's Volleyball South Division. Setter Chanelle Kayser has averaged 8.00 assists per set which is fifth best in the league. Kayser, a Bachelor of Science Nursing student, is a fifth-year student-athlete from Calgary.

The Queens will face the Olds College Broncos in a weekend rematch.
Kings Volleyball | Friday, January 5 | 8:00 p.m. | Olds College
In Olds, the RDC Kings (7-5) will face the Broncos (0-14). The Kings share fourth spot in the ACAC Men's Volleyball South Division with the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. Adam Turlejski leads the league with 0.82 blocks per set. Turlejski, a Bachelor of Business Administration General Management student, is a fourth-year student-athlete from Melbourne, Victoria.
